Family Life
JCC's Family Life ministry is actually several ministries combined into one. Listed below are the current groups. Of course, if you have an idea for another one, be sure to drop us a line and let us know what you're thinking!
Seams of Kindness
Joppatowne Christian Church has a sewing ministry started in 2002 to encourage people with an interest in sewing and quilting to contribute their talent for God's work. The wonderful thing about this ministry is the fellowship of people with like interests and varied experience. You don't even have to have a sewing machine! Or material as much is donated. If you are new, we partner you with a more experienced person to learn to make lap blankets for Perry Point Veterans Hospital, costumes for our Church plays, and scarves/mittens/hats for school children. In the past we have also donated baby quilts to Birthright. We encourage you to work from home doing as much or as little as your time permits while meeting quarterly each year to plan our projects and occasionally, do one for ourselves! Women's Ministry
The Women’s Ministry at JCC was started to provide women with opportunities to make life-long and life changing friendships. They meet for Bible studies, social events, and to provide support for one another through the events of life. Many activities occur throughout the year including a fall retreat, dinners and breakfasts out, book discussions, shopping trips, Bible studies, and ‘Sweet Mondays'. Senior Saints - 55+
The Senior Saints of JCC gather every Monday morning here at the church for a time of devotion and prayer along with a great time of fellowship. This group spends time on Monday's reaching out to anyone who they think is currently in need of a little pick me up, by sending notes to church family, those that are shut-in, hopsitalized or traveling, whether away at college or serving our country. The group also participates in different events through out the year, including ice cream socials, game days, ect... Fore more information, please call the church office at 410-679-9366.
